Our Purpose
Reduction in Water Intensity & Protecting Water Resources
We recognize the critical importance of water conservation in ensuring the long-term sustainability of our operations. We've implemented comprehensive water management strategies to reduce water consumption and protect precious water resources.
Our Approach
Comprehensive Water Management Strategies
Key Initiatives
- Water Risk Assessment : We’ve conducted thorough water risk assessments for all our manufacturing locations, identifying areas with high water vulnerability.
- Water Source Optimization : In regions with high water risk, such as Ahmedabad and Aligarh, we’ve shifted to alternative water sources, like the Narmada River, to reduce our reliance on groundwater
- Zero Liquid Discharge : We’re committed to achieving zero liquid discharge in our operations. Our Sikkim plant is currently undergoing a conversion to achieve this goal by FY 2023-24, and our Ahmedabad plant has already successfully implemented zero liquid discharge.
- Water Intensity Reduction : We’ve set a target to reduce water intensity by 15% by FY 2028-29 compared to the baseline year of FY 2021-22.
Key Initiatives
Impact
Our efforts have yielded positive results. We’ve successfully reduced water intensity from 2.20 in FY 2021-22 to 1.75 in FY 2022-23, demonstrating our commitment to water conservation. By implementing these initiatives, we’re not only conserving water but also mitigating the risks associated with water scarcity and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our operations. We’re proud of our progress and remain dedicated to protecting precious water resources.
